Thank you for your consideration in assisting us with the Rehabilitation of the Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Museum.
On November 21, 2020, a fire caused damage to our beloved facility in which we honor the legacy of Mrs. Kathlyn Joy Gilliam who was one of Dallas’ greatest, most courageous civil rights leaders and a champion for quality education for boys and girls. While in the process of making repairs, another fire struck our facility on January 1, 2021 causing extensive damage. Luckily, the furnishings and artifacts had been placed in storage at the onset of the first occurrence.
We are ready to undergo repairs and to resume our Mission and Programs celebrating the legacy of Kathlyn Joy Gilliam. However, we need your help. Of course, we were not without insurance. Unfortunately, the limit allowed for reconstruction exceeds the necessary repair costs. We seek your assistance in partnering with us to rehabilitate this truly impactful piece of history, a City of Dallas Historical Landmark, located within the Colonial Hills National Register Historic District.

How can you help to resume our Debate Team training center, offer vital Museum and Meeting Space, and provide Literacy programs in our Reading Resource Room?
We have Sponsorship opportunities, which will significantly support our Rehabilitation project. We have Stewardship possibilities, which will help to ensure the proper maintenance and general upkeep of our facility.
We also have a “Wish Tree” for those donors who recognize that every contribution helps us reach our goal! Additionally, we have “In-Kind” options for those who have time, talent, or resources to provide. Together, let us reframe the portraits of philanthropy, inclusive of all people, to serve as positive role models for our youth!
Please consider the following opportunities for sponsorship of the Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Rehabilitation Project:
If you prefer, please consider being part of our “Wish Tree.”
